American Legion Post 193 holds officer induction

The American Legion is one of the oldest Veteran Organizations and on Saturday, June 16th, 13 new officers were installed.

The officers installed were: Erskine “Will” Warren, Charles Beale, Pete Strong, Eugene Ford, Joseph Holmes, Bernard Brown, Benny Bailey, Roy Smith, Nick Blackwell, Vincent Simpson, Fred Hicks, Ellis Hodges and David Kennedy.

Held at the Hanniton Watts American Post 193 family and friends gathered to share in the ceremony. Dedicated to giving back to the community, the Hanniton Watts Post donates up to $30,000 a year back to the community through their service programs. Some of their programs include a state oratory contest, a boys state program, a scholarship at Pensacola State College and donating money to other verteran organizations.
