Bethel AME Celebrates 100 Year Anniversary with Centennial Banquet
Cool weather did not deter mem- bers and friends Saturday evening as they enjoyed a buffet of fine dining at the Corinne Jones Cen- ter located on Saunders Beach. When the crowd entered the softly lit building, En’Trigue Band was there playing smooth jazz and the latest R&B sounds for everyone’s entertainment.
As everyone took their seats, dressed in their Gala attire, Rev.
Beverly Brooks gave the invoca- tion and the audience joined with her in singing ‘We Come This Far by Faith’.
Dinner for the evening consist- ed of Roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, vegetables, salad, rolls and iced tea. Door prizes were given to many of the attendees by Sister Judith E. Hollinshead who was the mistress of ceremony for the evening.
Rev. Charles Morris, pastor of Bethel AME wished everyone well and said “It’s so won- derful to have everyone here to celebrate this momentous occasion. We know that some of us were not able to make it, but we look forward to cele- brating another glorious year next year.”
