Bad weather did not stop the local bikers from coming together for a good cause. The cause this time was Sickle Cell. Approximately 100 bikers and their organizations met in from of the Sickle Cell Anemia Office Saturday morning to rider to raise money for the cause.
Kevin Duncan, the Public Relations Person for the Chariots organization, said that “So far we have about six organizations that are riding for the event. The Chariots in conjunction with Mr. Walter Wallace sponsor this event annually. “We want to let people know that you can always come out to just fellowship and enjoy a good time. Rain or shine we plan to do this ride. The bikers plan to ride down the 110 to Interstate 10 to Scenic Hwy, stop at Eagles Talon Store; then to Pensacola Motor Sports to do a little shopping and back to the Sickle Cell Office on DeVilliers. “We try to keep the ride short so that we can get back for the Northwest Florida Blood Mobile. We try to get at least 25 members to donate blood.” He said. Some of the groups riding for Sickle Cell included; Twisted, Vikings, CMA, Pace Setters, Chariots, Rod Dawgs, and My Fathers Vineyard.
