Auntees” also known as Ida Calland has now opened her business on highway 29. “My first business was on Michigan,” she began. “I actually started cooking when I was very young. My first meal was Lasagna. My first batch, I threw away but after that, I got it.” She first started with a little trailer. “My trailer was parked on Michigan for about a year or so and then I moved to 10 Mile Road.
Ida loves to cook. “Everyone used to come over to my house to eat. So as the years passed, I started to think about starting my own business.” When they asked me what would I name it (the business) I said ‘Auntees’ because everyone has an Auntee. Auntee is where you go to enjoy good cooking.” Auntees is where I would always go when I would leave church and just enjoy her cooking.”
The atmosphere in Auntees is truly a place of friendliness. If good food is what you are looking for on the North end-Auntees is the place.
