Hanniton Watts Celebrates Dedication and Appreciation
Saturday evening friends and members of Hanniton Watts American Legion Post 193 enjoyed an evening of dining and entertainment at the dedication and appreciation ceremony for fellow veterans now and gone.
Guests enjoyed a scrumptious meal of Steak or baked chicken, wild rice, vegetable medley, rolls and dessert.
“We wanted to recognize people that have contributed over the past years to the legacy of the Post 193,” said Walter Wallace. WE also wanted to honor Mr. Bennie Bailey for all that he has done.
Over the years there has been a number of people that have contributed to The American Legion Post and some have dedicated their live to ensure that the organization gives back to the community.
Benny Bailey is a long time legionnaire that has held national office in the American Legion, has been a district commander and has mentored young legionnaires and has dedicated a lot to veterans.
James Wherry a long time legionnaire member instrumental in making sure Post 193 performs their mission and also is in charge of our Oratory contest that our young people takes part in Tallahassee.
Walter Wallace is also a long time legionnaire that often times acts as media coordinator as well as helping to fill in where ever necessary. He is also the President of Sickle Cell Disease Organization.
Jose Sicardo established Christmas in January. He was
Willie T Mallory instrumental in overseeing our progress. He is
Willie J Moorer is a cornerstone of the American Legion Post. He was the Commander at least two times and oversaw the progress of our building maintenance.
Joseph Holmes has been our finance officer and has dedicated his life making sure that the American Legion Post survived
Bill Byrd is one of our past Commanders and also served as our finance officer.
