Learn, Have Fun, & Exercise During Field Day
The ending of the school year is near. Students of Escambia County and other districts have finished testing students with the FCAT and are now preparing for the summer. However, they are encouraged to continue to learn and stay in shape.
On Friday May 2nd, 2014 the teachers and administration of Jim Allen Elementary School rewarded their students by hosting a full day of fun and exercise. As learning by reading books and studying is the key to success; physical education is just as important.
Most schools’ physical education courses, also known as P.E., are generally a required course until the completion of high school; however, today research has shown how the trends of this course have developed.
Studies show that not only does it enhance ones physical features but it plays a major role in psychological benefits such as concentration, awareness, and good mental health. Field day has been suggested to be implemented in the school systems consisting of grade levels K-12.
The purpose of Field Day is to promote both a healthy living and physical lifestyle.
The program has been designed to work with both academic and health professionals within the community to plan an entire day of fun in liaison to athletic activities for students.
Together JAE teachers, administration, parents, and students participated in “Field Day” from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Everyone enjoyed the day of fun and exercise at the same time.
