This past Sunday members and friends of Emmaus Kidz celebrated their 22nd Year Anniversary at Damascus Road Baptist Church, hosted by Rev. Dr. Earl F. Jackson.
Based on John 4:23; the theme was titled “It’s Time to Worship”. The program was lead into worship by Pastor J.O. Gatson and Mr. Tory Knight. Featuring Pensacola’s very own; live entertainment was performed by The Visionaires, “Reconstruction” of Zion Hope Baptist Church, and The Chosen 5 of Mobile, Alabama. Prayers, praise dances, monologues, and songs under the direction of Mr. Charles Cooper were conducted by EK members.
The Emmaus Kidz Organization is well known for mentoring kids who have grown with the program and are now well accomplished adults. Honoring their graduating class of 2014; Ms. Ebony Hill is a graduate of Williamson High School (Mobile, Al.) who is the daughter of Mrs. Adalene Hill and the late Mr. Leonard Hill. She was recognized as an 8year EK member who now has plans to attend Bishop State Community College majoring in culinary arts and proceed to further her education in business management at Alabama State University. Ms. Rachel G. Austin is the daughter of Mr. William Austin and Mrs. Vicki Austin (Mobile, Al.). She is also an active member of EK who recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of South Alabama. Austin completed an internship at the University of South Alabama; Police Department and now has plans to continue her education by earning a graduate degree. As a candle was lit by Ms. Charmere Gatson; a tribute was made to EK members who are serving as U.S. Soldiers and those who now deceased.
In conclusion words of appreciation were shared by Pastor J.O. Gatson and Lady Gloria Gatson to all members, guest, and those who serve on the Parents of Purpose Board.
