Camp C.O.R.E.Y. of C.O.R.E. Ministries
As we all know that the season of summer is almost coming to an end and it is almost time for children to go back to school. However, it is always great to keep the minds of our future leaders exercised and sharp for the following academic year.
This summer Camp C.O.R.E.Y offered an 8 week summer experience which consisted of fun, fellowship, academic education, and recreational activities. It was open to both boys and girls ages 8-15 years old. Through the active roles of parent involvement and great faith the attendance level of each child was a success.
Each year Pastor Lawrence S. Powell of C.O.R.E. Ministries, members of his church, and others come together to make Camp C.O.R.E.Y. an incredible learning experience for the children who attend during the summer. Some of its staff includes leaders of the community, educators, military personnel, and qualified volunteers. This camp strives to maintain an environment which encourages both personal growth and social development through faith.
The campers were also exposed to activities such as Taekwondo, skating, and physical fitness drills to keep them fit. During the day they were able to participate in reading and math activities to enrich their current levels as they approached a new academic school year. They also were taken on field trips to local museums, libraries, movie theaters, bowling alleys, and parks to enhance their summer experience while in camp.
These children are confident to know that they can do anything great that they put their minds to and “The Sky is The Limit” when it comes to their future.
