Epps, PJA Ministries Join to Help the Homeless

PJAOn Saturday, April 11, 2015 The Epps Christian Center joined forces with PJA Ministries at Sam’s Club to collect donation for the 9th Annual Homeless Awareness Day event. As they stood outside the store front, asking for donations, Pastor Sylvia Tisdale of Epps Christian Center, and Patrick Austin of PJA ministries, shared their vision for helping The Community Volunteers at both ends of the store collected donations as people emerged from the store with cases of water and bags of flour and food. Tisdale said with homeless shelters consistently over populated, this is one way to offer relief to the homeless community. Tisdale said she has been a Christian since 1978 and faithfully doing community outreach for over twelve years. Austin said PJS Ministries showed up to show their love and support and help the Epps Christian Center accomplish their goal. On April 25 from 10am – 2pm, Pastor Tisdale will be hosting the Homeless Awareness Day event at the Asbury Place Cokesbury Church, 5725 North 9th Avenue, Pensacola, FL 32504. At the event the homeless will receive cooked meals, free haircuts, toiletries food, clothing and live entertainment. She is currently collecting various items and monetary gifts for this cause. If you would like to give she will be at Barnes Shopping Center on Pace Boulevard this upcoming Saturday. There you can donate, can goods, coffee, sugar, creamer cooking oil, meats, flour, bottled water and black pepper. You can also bring clothing and toiletries.
