Fifty years ago, when Les Humphrey started The Pensacola Voice, he had a vision of not only informing the community of news worthy issues, but also to bring our community together to better understand the possibilities of economic growth.
As we celebrated our 50th Anniversary, it made me reflect on many things that have affected our community over the years and today; but, I also looked toward to the future to begin to emphasize the need for more of a Voice that the average man, woman, boy or girl could express their desires and wishes and bring about new ways to educate and enlighten our readers.
Because of this need, The Pensacola Voice is more than ever determined to serve the community in more ways to bring about a positive change and give our readers the facts of events and issues that are to come.
We are committed now more than ever to continue the journey of objective journalism and give a voice where silence exists.
It is our plan to continue to connect the dots of each community, be it African American, Asian, Latino, Vietnamese, Jewish, Italian, Muslim, or European. Each community has a right to be heard and it is our desire to be the catalyst of deserving news.
Because of your support and commitment to The Pensacola Voice, it is with honor and humility that we wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and we look forward to serving you in 2016.
