Wendy Raquel Robinson is known to many television viewers for her roles as the no-nonsense, principal, ‘Regina Grier’ on the “The Steve Harvey Show” and as the sexy and feisty sports manager ‘Tasha Mack’ from BET’s #1 rated scripted series, “The Game.” However, Robinson is also a dancer, director, writer, producer and choreographer. This weekend she comes to Pensacola and will be featured in the Gulf Coast African American Chamber of Commerce’s Women of Power Weekend.

On Friday, March 18th the Chamber starts the weekend with Pensacola’s Ultimate Fashion Collection: Vogue Strike a Pose Fashion Show, 7:00 pm at the Event Center, 3201 W. Navy Blvd.  Chamber staff member Santiria Bradley is the event planner, and she and the Chamber have made sure this event features local fashion artists and models. Okevia Carter is the fashion show host, and Wendy Rachel Robinson will make a special runway appearance.

On Saturday, the fun continues with the Chambers 2nd Annual Women of Power Business Conference & Luncheon. The Conference will take place from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Conference Center on the campus of the University of West Florida, 11000 University Parkway.  Saturday Robinson will be the keynote speaker, and Robin Reshard will be the host. Nicole Dixon, Executive Director at the Chamber, shares “the Women of Power Conference has grown this year. With the fashion show mixer, everyone has an opportunity just to come out, have some fun, and relax.” Additionally, she states, “This year we will have breakout sessions, this allows everyone an opportunity to move around. We will also have a men’s panel and beauty bar where everyone can try beauty products. We have designed this conference with the needs of this area in mind. Come on out and have a good time.”

Mamie Hixon, University of West Florida; Bentina Terry, Gulf Power; Megan McCarthy, Baptist Health Care; Sheena Ross, Navy Federal Credit Union; and Leslie Hunter-Huff, Boys and Girls Club will be featured on Saturday’s panel.
