The NAACP Florida State Conference joins up with the Pensacola Branch of the NAACP to sponsor a free small and minority business workshop at St. John Divine Missionary Baptist Church from 10:00am to 2:00pm on April 9th. The speakers invited include Pensacola Mayor Ashton Hayward, County Commissioner Lumon May, Pensacola City Councilwoman Jewel Cannada Wynn, Gulf Coast African Chamber Executive Director Nicole Dixon, Minority Business Development Agency Executive Director Pam Ramos, a panel of local small African American business owners, and the City of Pensacola’s Minority and Women Business Enterprise Program.
The discussion topics will include City of Pensacola and Escambia County contract opportunities, small and minority business development strategies, and testimonies from local African-American business owners about their survival skills and marketing techniques. There will also be a presentation on business opportunities being generated by the BP Oil Spill Settlement and the RESTORE Act in Escambia County. There will be a free lunch offered for the workshop attendees.
