Earlier this year I had the opportunity to meet Jamel Moore as he and his radio partner were preparing for the launch of their new show, Sunday Fresh. During the launch party he walked up to me and told me that he was getting ready to propose to the stunning Okevia Carter.
That evening Moore performed a spoken word proposal. It was only fitting to have that poem featured on their special day. As attendees waited for the ceremony to begin, images of the couple came on the screen as he professed his love with words and song, inspired by Lenny Williams.
“I sing when I can’t find the words to say. I try to write them, but I run out of ink.
I mean, how do you express the magnitude of love you have for someone you miss every time you blink.
And I’ll kiss you even if your breath stinks. I don’t care if you gain weight. I don’t care if you get rolls.
I love you from your apple head all the way down to your chubby toes.
And I love your soul cause that’s the you I knew before I met you.”
The intimate wedding took place at My Father’s Vineyard. The couple’s love was the perfect decoration for the afternoon event.
The radiant bride wore a sleeveless, pale pink fitted mermaid gown adorned with rhinestones and a V-back. Complimented with a pink fascinator with rhinestones. She was escorted to her groom by her father, Billy McLamb. Her handsome groom stood next to Pastor Wes Alvarez as he waited for her to arrive. Once Okevia and Jamel were side-by-side and holding hands the ceremony began and they were married.
The wedding focused on the faith of this couple, their love for each other, and their love for their family. After becoming one, Pastor James Miller joined them and performed the Covenant of Salt. Then Mariah Moore, Jayla Moore, and Jamel S. Moore came forward and they had their first communion as a family.
The Forever Moore family then celebrated their union with their family and friends.
