The NAACP Pensacola Branch will now be holding its Executive Committee Meetings and its General Membership Meetings at 615 N. “W” Street, formally known as the Jolene Avant Center of Excellence. Both meetings are held on the second Thursday of each month. The Executive Committee meets at 6:00 p.m., and the General Membership meets at 7:00 p.m. The next meeting will be held on July 14th.
The NAACP Branch President Eladies Sampson wanted to publically thank Dr. Calvin Avant, CEO of Unity in the Family, and owner of the office complex for making the suite available for the NAACP to move into. The office has been very professionally and tastefully designed with an interior designer’s touch. In addition to Eladies Sampson as the Pensacola Branch President, the First Vice-President is Alvis Collins, the Second Vice-President is Rodney Jones, and the Secretary is Dr. Joyce Hopson.
Ms. Sampson stated. “We are excited about our new location as we now have a home for our board of directors and committees to meet. Additionally, we have our offices to focus on meeting our community’s needs. The NAACP Branch is preparing for its NAACP Annual Freedom Funds Awards Banquet on August 6th at New World Landing at 6:00 p.m.
