Community Supports Fundraiser for Cassandra
Friday night at Shelia’s It’s Personal, people throughout the community came to enjoy good music by local artists and support Cassandra Williams’ fundraiser.
If you ask “Who is Cassandra Williams” anyone who knows her will say “that’s the blonde headed lady that sings with bands that has a voice of an angel! “That chick can really blow”
As people gathered and found their seats, the band began to play and the occasion became a night to remember. The floor was available for everyone to dance and have fun. So why the fundraiser? Cassandra has been diagnosed with cancer. Currently, she is undergoing chemo treatments and it’s quite serious. But that did not stop the ”Lady of the night” as she stepped on the stage to give everyone within earshot a beautiful rendition of ‘Angel’. As she took her seat she shared that her brother also has cancer. “It runs in our family,” she said. Afterwards, she sang what we call her “signature song”-At Last, by Etta James.
Shelia Greene of Its Personal sponsored the event. “I heard about her and it touched my heart to do something for her,” she said.
Approximately 350 people showed their love by contributing at the door and purchasing fired chicken wings and French fries.
“Everything that was given goes directly to Cassandra,” said Greene.
If you want to donate to Cassandra, like her on Face Book and inbox her-Cassandra Williams. I’m sure she will be glad to hear from you.
