Last Saturday morning, September 1, local Ministers and leaders met at Kingdom Life Worship Center located on the corner of ‘J’ and Jackson Street to initiate plans to have prayer walks throughout the community.
“It’s about our city, our children and the violence,” stated Dr. Janice Crenshaw. “Never in my life have I’ve seen so much crime in Pensacola. We must get involved and take back our city.”
Many attested to the great decrease of violence and drug activity in the neighborhoods when the walks were done on a regular basis.
Captain David Alexander of the City of Pensacola Police Department also attested that crime subsided for a while in the neighborhoods that the walks took place.
“There’s a gateway open and we must stand in the gap,” Crenshaw said. “We would like to see as many Ministers a part of this walk because we are God’s leaders. Each Minister that is a part of the walk will have the opportunity to begin the walk at his church and we will walk throughout his community. This is all about souls. Those that cannot walk, we are asking that they come out and pray in the church while we walk throughout the neighborhood,” said Crenshaw.
The group will meet every first and third Saturday at Kingdom Life Worship Center. For more information, please contact Dr. Janice Crenshaw or Captain David Alexander. Everyone is invited.
The first prayer walk will be September 15 starting 7 a.m. at Kingdom Life Worship Center. Other participating churches are Deliverance Tabernacle, Life Changing Experience Worship Center, Agape 24 Ministries, Jubilee Christian Center, St. Mary Baptist Church, Church of the Living God, Pentecostal Temple Ministries, Power House Assembly of God, Jesus of Nazareth Holy Tabernacle and the First Baptist Church Warrington.
