Pensacola became the Mecca for AME parishioners as they gathered at Zion Hope Baptist Church beginning Monday morning with the Women’s Missionary Society Convention and Pre-conference Episcopal Meetings.
With Bethel AME Church, Rev. Charles A. Morris, Pastor, hosting the event approximately 2000 people including Minister, Elders, Pastors, Prelates, Bishops and members of various AME churches traveled from throughout the state of Florida to attend the annual event.
Episcopal Leaders are Bishop Adam J. Richardson, Presiding Prelate and Mrs. Connie S. Richardson, Supervisor of Missions. Pensacola-Marianna District, hosts are Rev. Jams H. Davis, Presiding Elder and Mrs. Deborah K. Davis, District Consultant. Associate Presiding Elders are Rev. Mary Robinson, Quincy District and Rev. Dr. Carlton Taylor, Tallahassee District.
Tuesday morning began the official Annual Conference with Roll call, transfers, Lay Delegated Seated/Credentials, Election of Conference Functionaries and various reports.
The afternoon was filled with Conference Business. Tuesday evening, the congregation enjoyed an evening of praise and worship with the Mass Choir leading high praise. The Annual Sermon was delivered by Pastor Willie Hagan.
Wednesday is expected to be a busy day with conference business, pastors’ reports including Administrative Committee Reports. The evening service will be begin at 7pm with the Sons of Allen “Mighty Men of Valor” Witness Night.
Friday evening will culminate the conference with presentation of certificates and the reading of appointments.
The community is invited to attend and worship.
