Thursday April 24, was declared Bubba Watson Day in Pensacola, Florida. Recently winning his second Masters, Watson returned to Pensacola and was saluted throughout the day by many. In reference to his childhood, he visited Bagdad Elementary, Milton High School, and tossed the first pitch at the Pensacola Blue Wahoo Sodium later on that night.
As a child he played in several junior golf and high school competition games at the Osceola Municipal Golf Course in the City of Pensacola.
Presented by The First Tee Program of Northwest Florida, ESPN of Pensacola FM 101.1, and sponsored by the new Fusion Grill at the Osceola Golf Course, many dressed in the color green in honor of his win which he played in Augusta, Georgia.
Watson continued to encourage the youth to stay in school, get a good education, and remain dedicated to doing what most inspires them. He then proceeded to answer questions that were asked by those in the audience and sign autographs.
Today Watson is ranked as one of the top players in World Golf and also stands as a six-time winner on the PGA tour. He also stands as one of the most aristocratic players who uphold several Masters Championships throughout golf history.
