Commander Andre Ragin Retires in Style

After twenty years of dedicated service to the US Navy, Commander Andre L. Ragin gave his farewell salute to his fellow offi- cers and friends at the Mustin Beach Offi- cer’s Club, NAS Pensacola.

CDR Ragin, born in Philadelphia, PA on March 27, 1970 calls Brandywine, MD home. He enlisted in the Navy after gradu- ating from Suitland High School on accep- tance into the Broadened Opportunity for Officer Selection and Training (BOOST program. Upon completion of the BOOST school in San Diego CA, he attended Hampton University on an NROTC schol- arship. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and was commissioned an Ensign in the spring of 1993. He completed Naval Aviator training in the summer of 1996 and reported to the Shamrocks of Air-antisu8bmarine Squadron 41 (S-41) at NAS North Island, CA for initial training in the S-3B “Viking”.

Upon his climb to success, In September of 2004 CDR Ragin completed his obligated active duty service and affiliated with the VT-86 Reserve Component where he cur- rently serves as a T-45C “Goshawk” flight instructor. In his civilian life, CDR Ragin is an air- line pilot for Delta Airlines.

RD Ragin’s personal decorations included the Navy Commen- dation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and various unit and service awards. He was designated TRAWING SIX Pilot Flight Instructor of the year for 2003. He has flown over 3000 flight hours in Navy aircraft and has over 320 carrier arrested landings.

CDR Ragin is married to the former Laura Seaton of Pensacola, FL, and are blessed with their beautiful daughter Ayana Noelle Ragin.
