The Pensacola alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., transformed New World Landing with festive shimmery white tulle and red bows. The excitement in the air was contagious as the Delta’s and friends of the Delta’s filled the beautifully decorated place.
Sandra McCreary, president of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Pensacola Alumnae Chapter, and the Pensacola Delta Enrichment Center presented their 49th Annual Cotillion on Saturday, March 5th at New World Landing. The five gems they presented were Miss Raesha James, Miss Aaliyhia Croom, Miss Taylor Nicholson, Miss Caelei Brown, and Miss Angel Love. Presenting the debutantes was Alumnae Chapter member Aisha Freeman.
Debutante Raesha James is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Pierce and Nikki James. She is a senior at Pine Forest High School. Miss Raesha James plans to attend The University of West Florida and major in Teacher Education with a minor in social work. In her message to her mom she said, “…thank you Mom, for everything you’ve done and for never giving up on me.” Her escort was Mr. Christopher James, the son of Mr. Christopher James and Ms. Janice Spencer.
Debutante Aaliyhia Croom is the daughter of Mr. Arthur Croom and Mrs. Tammy Johnson. She is a senior at Pine Forest High School. Miss Aaliyhia Croom plans to attend Bethune Cookman University and major in Criminal Justice. In her message to her mother she wrote, “…thank you for everything you’ve done for me.” Her escort was Mr. Keith Kyles, Jr., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Keith and Angela Kyles, Sr.
Débutante Taylor Nicholson is the daughter of Mr. Hurbert Harris and Ms. Delia Nicholson. She is a senior at Pine Forest High School. Miss Taylor Nicholson plans to attend either the University of West Florida or The University of South Alabama and major in Children and Society Aging Interdisciplinary Studies. After college she plans to join the Navy. In her message to her mom she stated “…you always made it work out. There was always an upside to every downfall, a positive side to every negative situation.” Her escort was Mr. Christian Hollinger, the son of Mr. Clenton Hollinger and Ms. Michelle Malden.
Débutante Caelei Brown is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert and Melissa Brown. She is a senior at Pace High School. Miss Caelei Brown plans to attend Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University and major in Nursing. In her message to her parents she shared, “Words cannot describe how much you guys mean to me.” Her escort was Mr. Shawn’Dre White, the son of Mrs. Cicile White.
Débutante Angel Love is the daughter of Mr. Marvin Love and Mrs. Tori Wood. A senior at J. M. Tate High School, she loves cheerleading. Miss Love plans to attend The University of South Florida and major in Nursing. In her message to her parents and step-parent she shared, “…thank you for being so supportive.” Her escort was Mr. Kevin Green, Jr., the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kevin and Linda Green.
Entertainment for the evening included the cotillion dance by the debutantes and their escorts and music by DJ Cory T. The event photographer was Lezli Hammon.
