Friends and Family Celebrates Alice Lee Johnson’s 100th Birthday

Saturday evening, friends and family members enjoyed the festivities of Mrs. Alice Lee Johnson’s 100th year old birthday party at the Fricker Recreational Center.

Approximately 250+ well-wishers enjoyed a sit down meal catered by Mrs. Torrie Jones.

Mrs. Johnson, affectionally called “Nana Niecy” was born November 28, 1916, in Laurel Mississippi.  She is the eldest granddaughter of a full blooded Black foot Indian, the eldest daughter of Mrs. Lillie Houston and the sister of Mrs. Thelma Ford.

She is a faithful member of Talbot Chapel AME Zion Church.  “I believe in giving my mother her flowers while she can smell them,” said her son, Raymond Reese.

A Proclamation from the Escambia County Commissioners was presented to Mrs.  Johnson by County Commissioner Lumon May.
