Habitat Dedicates Homes In Community

Twenty-six families participated in a ceremony Sunday afternoon at Greater Union celebrating the closing of their mortgages for Habitat Homes.

“These families have completed all of the requirements to be eligible for habitat homes,” said Natalie Shearlock, Director of Community engagement.

Habitat sells homes with no profit and 0% interest on the mortgage.  “Habitat is a Christian ministry that is always looking for properties to build to help the community,” said Shearlock.  “I’ve been with Habitat seven year and I have seen hundreds of dedications.” She said.

Each family was given a hammer and bible, a symbol of Habitat Humanity ministry.  A quilt made by Pensacola Quilters Guild was also given to each family.
