Hamilton Watts Celebrates MLK Day

Monday afternoon, The Hanniton Watts American Legion Post celebrated Martin Luther King’s Day with a Celebratory program at the American Legion Post.

With a standing room only crowd, Roy Smith began the program by leading the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by Gerrie Bailey with prayer.

As the participants enjoyed the festivities, Charles Beale sang a heartfelt solo of “Wind Beneath My Wings.”

Commander Byrd recognized all of the distinguished guests that were present.
Participants for the affair were Maxine Lucas, Walter Wallace, Gerrie Bailey, Erskine Warren and Kathy Collins, who was the Mistress of Ceremony for the program.

After the program, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. gave an appetite filling luncheon.
