Hayward nominates Donovan as Airport Director

Pensacola Mayor Ashton Hayward has nominated Gregory Donovan, A.A.E. to serve as the next Director of Pen- sacola International Airport. Hayward

will ask the Pensacola City Council to confirm his nominee at its next meeting.

Donovan would succeed current director Melin- da Crawford, who an- nounced in November that she would leave to accept the directorship of Charlottesville Albemarle Airport in Virginia.

For the past five years, Donovan has served as the director of the Okaloosa Coun- ty Airports System, which includes Northwest Florida Regional Airport (VPS), Destin Airport (DTS), and Bob Sikes/Crestview Airport (CEW).

Over his 23-year career, Donovan has also worked at Dane County Regional Airport in Wisconsin, Houston Hobby Airport, and for the Federal Aviation Administration at Orlando Internation- al Airport.

“Greg is a first-class professional who knows our airport and our market,” said Mayor Hayward. “Our airport is an in- valuable asset and an economic engine for our entire region. Greg is the right person to continue to grow Pensacola International Airport, open our airport to new markets, and maintain its posi- tion as the busiest and best airport be- tween New Orleans and Jacksonville.”

Donovan is certified as an Accredited Airport Executive (AAE) by the Amer- ican Association of Airport Execu- tives (AAAE). In 2011, Donovan was named the Aviation Professional of the Year by the Florida Department of Transportation. He served as president of the Florida Airports Council from 2011-2012.
