I truly believe that when you have a purpose, purpose must be bigger than self.
Originally from Miami, Florida, Tony is about giving back to the community and helping others. “What inspired me to do the calendar was the ability to help the wounded warrior s. Donations that I receive allow me to give back to the wounded warriors.” Having sustained injuries in Kosovo, he was ultimately left behind as his unit went to Iraq and ultimately given a medical discharge. “That hurt me because I had to leave my uniform. I am a soldier at heart,” he said.
Now Sergeant Flex is a fitness enthusiast, a personal trainer and also is a mentor for young people. He is a volunteer assistant coach for a football and track team at a high school in Panama City. “I’ve been out there and was raised in the projects. My mother was a single parent and I got in my share of trouble. I realized that when I found out I had a son on the way, at age nineteen, I decided that I needed to turn my life around for him. Tony is now working on his master’s degree in Exercise in Sports Psychology.
