Admiral “Spi-Del” LeRoy, founder and publisher of Out Front Magazine, produced the annual “Grand Musical Showcase and Subscription Appreciation Party” this past Sunday, November 24th at New World Landing Banquet and Event Center in downtown Pensacola. Cox Communications served as this premier event’s Presenting Sponsor. In a press release from the magazine Mr. LeRoy stated, “We have charter subscribers to Out Front Magazine dating back to the publication’s inception in 1990, and we decided to hold an Annual Subscription Appreciation Party to entertain our readers who have supported Out Front Magazine throughout its 23 years history.” The event was also designed to get new subscribers for the magazine.
Serving as executive producer of the musical entertainment allowed Mr. LeRoy to assemble a talent lineup which boasted some of the top acts in the local and regional market such as: One Accord Show Band; En`Trigue (Smooth Jazz Band); vocalist, Cassandra Williams backed by her daughter, Diamond Sneed; vocalist, Nielah Spears; longtime Jazz and R&B vocalist, Rose; Stony Murphy a R&B/Hip Hop artist, and the legendary Blues and Jazz vocalist/keyboardist, Nick Blackwell. Out Front Magazine presented some of the best of the best musical super star performers the area has to offer.”
The Grand Musical Showcase was hosted by Mamie Webb Hixon, the writer-producer-director of the “Our Voices Are Many” Production, and by John “Kousi” Harris President of High Pyramid Records, an international music recording company. However, Frankie Stoutemire, a music industry promoter, was handed the microphone to announce Spi-Del LeRoy would be taking the stage to debut his singing talent by performing Rhythm & Blues artist Maxwell’s hit “Don’t Ever Wonder” as a surprise highlight of the showcase. The music director of the entertaining evening was Michael Hewlett, assisted by Theresa Randaldson, with Michael Riley, as Associate Producer. Angelena Herbert, President of the Herbert Group, handled the publicity and public relations for the showcase.
