Pre-Valentine Jazz & Flow Sunday

By: Tonya Jackson

For nearly seven years, the team behind Lighten-Up Entertainment has been using their love of comedy and jazz to bring quality entertainment to our area. Lately, Michael Riley, and wife, Melinda, Lighten-Up CEO, have been devoting most of their time to bringing outstanding jazz artists to Pensacola. Just as their October concert sold out, this February event appears it will follow suit. Riley is quick to point out that he and his wife don’t do this alone and acknowledges his team for their finesse in pulling off their events in effortless style.

One of the things Riley does to ensure they have a full house for their events began as something to keep his mind occupied while he was recovering from surgery. He started a Facebook group, “Jazz and Flow”, which has grown into a lifestyle. A lifestyle he takes seriously and honors by making sure his fellow jazz lovers are abreast of jazz listening opportunities in our area. Yes, this magnanimous entrepreneur spotlights events other than his own.

As an early treat for sweethearts, Riley and company are bringing back jazz flutist Althea Rene to headline their concert on Sunday, February 7th. The Pre-Valentine Jazz & Flow Sunday will also include Pensacola native Antoine Knight and violinist Michael Ward. This concert will be held at New World Landing, 600 S. Palafox St. Doors will open at 4:00 pm and the live entertainment will begin at 5:00 pm. You can get ticket information at EventBrite or by calling Michael Riley at 850.232.5268.
