Thaddeus McMillan, Elected Teen Foundation Chair at the 58th 2015 Teen Leadership Conference

Thaddeus McMillan, a rising senior at Booker T. Washington High School and member of the Pensacola Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. was recently elected Teen Foundation Chair at the 58th 2015 Teen Leadership Conference in Miami, Florida. The conference was held June 27th. Thaddeus is one of four officers elected to represent over 3000 teens in the Southeastern Region of Jack and Jill of America, Inc.  which is an organization Empowering African American youth to excel through leadership and service in our communities.
Thaddeus was also recognized for his outstanding leadership and received an Award of Excellence for his Leadership Portfolio which was submitted at the conference
As a teen leader, Thaddeus will travel to Atlanta for the Teen Officers’ Leadership Meetings and he will represent the Southeastern Region at the On the Hill Legislative Summit in Washington DC.
Thaddeus was also recently elected as the 2015 – 2016 Teen President of the Local Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., and the 2015 – 2016 President of DECA (Business and Marketing Program at Booker T. Washington High School).
Thaddeus has been a continuous member of the Pensacola Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. for over 10 years. He has served the Teen Chapter as Financial Secretary, Corresponding Secretary, Chaplain and Foundation Chair. He also competed and placed 3rd on two occasions in the Chapter’s Ann Owen Gordon Oratorical Competition.
His countless hours of community service have benefited the Ronald McDonald House, American Cancer Society, American Red Cross, Various Churches and numerous other organizations. He really feels that it is important to give back to the community and is deeply committed to volunteering. He has received the Outstanding Volunteer Service Award for 3 straight years along with an Outstanding Leadership Award. This year he is working toward receiving the President’s Volunteer Service Award from President Barrack Obama for completing over 150 hours of community service within a 12 month period.
He is the proud son of Angela McMillan, (Immediate Past Vice President of the Pensacola Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc.) and Wayman McMillan. Additionally, he is a member of the Greater Little Rock Baptist Church, Pastor Lonnie D. Wesley, III.
Pensacola should see great things from this teen in the future.
